Missed phone calls…

My partner’s best friend, and my friend whom for the short 4 years that I knew him. Grew to love him, his wife, and his daughters. Passed away today, forever changing many lives.

War is vile, and wicked. However most manage a deployment with just a few bad memories, and some great stories to tell. However, getting accustomed to civilian life after so many years of service is a difficult one. Specially in the current economy where finding a job to support your family is difficult.

Our friend called us 6 times, and send text messages, unfortunately due to the fact that we were sleeping we missed each cry for help. I can’t help but feel guilty for not hearing the phone vibrate on my night stand.

I find it hard to sleep tonight, my ringer as loud as it can be on my phone.

Rest in Peace, Brother.
